A New Eco-Friendly Alternative: Grass Straws

There are many options when choosing an eco-friendly straw. Stainless steel of course, silicone, glass, paper and now grass! Yes, grass. The company, eightysix, created a wonderful, innovative straw.

They are biodegradable Grass Straws that look good, feel good, and stay good for longer than paper straws!

Eightysix grows their own grass straws and they actually become stronger in liquid. Much better in my opinion than a paper straw that gets soggy.

Disney Parks Eliminates Plastic Straws

Disney Parks Eliminates Plastic Straws

In 2019, The Walt Disney Company started to eliminate the use of plastic straws in their parks. This is part of their overall environmental initiative to reduce single-use plastics.

When visiting Disneyland in California and Walt Disney World in Florida, you will now find paper straws.

It’s nice to see that the paper straws are made in the United States of America! This is a great thing Disney is doing to help the environment and quality of life. While paper straws are much better than plastic, they can still be annoying, especially when drinking a slushy and it gets soggy.

That’s a big reason why we created Steel City Straws, to provide a variety of quality options when enjoying your favorite beverage.

Why Reusable Straws?

Why Reusable Straws?

Did you know Americans use roughly more than 500 million plastic straws each day? This is an estimated number, but why does that matter?

Scientists estimate there are 7.5 million plastic straws polluting U.S. shorelines. This has a negative effect on our oceans, wildlife and humans.

At Steel City Straws, we want to help planet Earth and support a better life for human beings. Plastic is bad and paper is better but can be annoying when they are in your drink for awhile. This is why we are promoting stainless steel, silicone and bamboo!

It’s a small step, but has a huge impact.
